A strong character combining high class and high performance: with its long bonnet, flowing roof line and short rear, the four-door Gran Coupé forms an exceptionally stylish and at the same time extremely sporty coupé silhouette. An overwhelming presence that is additionally reinforced by the exclusive graduated paint finish in Salève Vert. Depending on the angle of view, it changes from an elegant green to a greyish blue. Viewed individually, the various hues create an impression of luxury and elegance while the interplay of colours created when light strikes directly is reminiscent of polar lights – giving the vehicle an incomparable aura.

Along the sporty coupé silhouette, distinctive elements such as the frame of the M double-bar kidney grille, the M gills, the M brake callipers and the M twin tailpipes testify to its ambitions. It hugs the road on unique 21” M light-alloy wheels with star-shaped double spokes featuring a two-tone gold and black finish. An expressive contrast to the exclusive paint finish – and proof that opposites not only attract but also complement each other perfectly.

The highly dynamic and near-series front of the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupé already provides a tangible vision of the design language in the forthcoming BMW 8 Series, which will premiere 2018 with the 8 Series Coupé. The graphic clearly shows the face of the 8 Series – in the Gran Coupé this DNA fuses with light technology inspired by the BMW M8 GTE endurance grand tourer, which takes a hexagonal interpretation of the classic four-eye visage created by the headlights. In this way, the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupé combines the aspiration of the BMW luxury class with classic racing sport design that sweeps systematically over the flowing roof line through to the rear lights.
